The President along with the Board Chair is responsible to represent the League on external issues. The President is responsible to manage the overall operations and provide leadership in the fundraising efforts for the agency. If you are interested in becoming a volunteer, please call (503) 280-2600.
Development & Communications
The League is funded through a variety of sources including membership dues (individual, business and community partners), general contributions, grants and contracts, the United Way and other workplace giving programs, and fundraising events such as the annual Equal Opportunity Day (EOD) Dinner. The EOD Dinner is the League's main fundraising event that also honors individuals who have made significant contributions to the cause of equality in one or more of the League's focus areas--education, employment and economic development.
The Urban League of Portland is a member-based organization. Membership contributions provide vital support for the League's programs, outreach and advocacy. For more information about becoming a member of the League, call (503) 280-2600 or visit Membership.
